It’s not crowded

Social distancing is the way to keep yourself and other people safe from the coronavirus. Well, on a territory of 111m2 Bulgaria is having a population of 7 million people. The capital Sofia is the only city with more than a million inhabitants. Also, Bulgaria became more of a popular destination for travelers in the late years. So the chance to find yourself in a big crowd of tourists is very slim.

It’s affordable

Many people experienced a job crisis during the last months. But if you still don’t want to miss this year’s big trip, consider Bulgaria. Most visitors find it very affordable – in terms of not only accommodation and traveling around, but also food and tourist attractions.

It has perfect climate conditions

Bulgaria boasts four amazing seasons and offers a perfect climate for the tourists visiting in the summer. You can choose a holiday at the seaside where you can visit wild beaches and modern party destinations. But if you are not a fan of the summer heat you can also head to the beautiful mountains of Bulgaria and spend some time in nature.

Bulgaria did well with the coronavirus situation

Measures in our country were taken very fast and Bulgaria was one of the first countries in Europe that went under a lockdown applying strict rules that helped protect its citizens.

  • All from the reasons above but applied to the city. Its population is around 350 000 – it’s never crowded. It’s quite affordable. And there haven’t been new virus cases here for many days.
  • Plovdiv is in the central part of the country, making it the perfect starting point for every day or weekend trip. There are three mountains on an hour drive around, the Valley of the Thracian Kings is close and you can even plan a trip to the seaside since it’s just a two-hour drive from Plovdiv. Furthermore, the capital Sofia and the airport are also close – an hour and a half drive from Plovdiv.
  • There is a lot to do in the town itself. Plovdiv is 8000 years old, the oldest living city in Europe, rich in history and a remarkably beautiful place. There is so much to explore! Ancient Roman ruins, amazing rich houses from the Revival period of the country, magnificent temples, and stunning views from the hills of the town. Its calm and relaxed atmosphere is the perfect place to spend a day or two and to relax in-between adventures.
  • Finally, if you decide to visit our beautiful country and choose to stay in Plovdiv, don’t hesitate to join the Free Plovdiv Tour. Our guides will introduce you to the town, so you can easily decide how to organize your time in the city.
