Kapana Neighbourhood

The uniqueness of Plovdiv is hidden in its mixture of cultures, architecture styles and layers of amazing history. In our town, you just need to walk for a few minutes to enter a different neighborhood with its own story and looks. Such examples are the Old Town, The Tobacco town, The area around the Pedestrian street, the neighborhoods around the hills and our favorite – Kapana district. Of course, we guarantee you will find one common thing between all these places – the bohemian relaxed soul of Plovdiv.

Because we are so happy and proud of our Arts and Crafts district, we started wondering which are those unique and charming neighborhoods around Europe that people adore.

The Monti neighborhood, Rome, Italy

Romeing – the ultimate guide for the cultural scene, events and lifestyle defines Monti as the place for the “cool and young, the old and vintage”. A place combining old, classic and chic (check the blog in the link!).

Monti is located between the Colosseum and Piazza Venezia and promises a
more Roman experience compared to the more popular and full of tourists places around Rome. Here you will find nice places to enjoy a meal, surrounded by the unique atmosphere of antique books stores, vintage shops, and cobblestones. Also, the cafes and bars here are considered to be one of the best in Rome.

The neighbourhood Montmartre, Paris, France

Montmartre was the home of many great artists and writers that lived in France. Therefore, today it is an amazing mix of authentic charm, artistic atmosphere and trendy places. The guests can find historical sites, as the Sacré-Coeur Basilica, the Church of St. Pierre, museums and unique cabarets. Also, thanks to the many portrait sketchers and caricaturists anyone can go home with an arty souvenir. The neighborhood is also the owner of the most spectacular view in Paris. You just need to go to the top of the hill, where the district is situated.

The neigbourhood Wrangelkiez, Kreuzberg, Berlin, Germany

Charming Neighborhood

This is a unique place in Berlin, because it is combining cobbled roads and beautiful old architecture with modern street art. It is even considered that Wrangelkiez is best known for the famous street art murals around its streets.

The district is often described as a place of variety: the streets all look different from each other, also the buildings and the people themselves. Many of the inhabitants are not German citizens, therefore you can say the place is a multicultural part of Berlin.

If you end up walking around this district, keep in mind another type of variety. You can choose to spend your time in all kinds of different venues for live music, cafes, clubs and bars.

Of course, you can get the best tips from a local, so check this article by DEUTSCH, BITTE.

Kapana Arts and Crafts District, Plovdiv, Bulgaria

Charming Neighborhood
Kapana Neighborhood

Well, maybe Kapan district is not in the capital of Bulgaria. But – it is in Plovdiv – The European Capital of Culture for 2019. Also, our neighborhood is not as big or as famous as the districts we just told you about. Still, if you visit, we promise that you will find it just as charming and adorable. Full of history, architecture, modern street art, crafts, lovely restaurants and cafes.
