Very good way for a 1st time visitor
This is a very good way for a first-time visitor to see the major sights of Plovdiv, the 2nd largest city in Bulgaria. You will receive good information about the history of the city, and also of the history of Bulgaria, if you aren’t already aware of this country’s history.
The downtown pedestrian center is very modern and expansive. But beware, the trip up the hill to the ancient city is VERY rocky. Wear comfortable shoes. Don’t take a baby carriage.
The tour starts at the entrance of the post office on the pedestrian mall. This is a huge white building and the entrance may be confusing; I’m including a photo of the entrance.
They do accept donations to help sustain the organization, but otherwise it is free.
