Alternative ways to travel around Plovdiv

Visiting an unknown town can be challenging when it comes to driving and using public transport. Luckily, there are alternative ways to travel around the city. Furthermore, all the ideas we introduce you to in this article are eco-friendly and actually good for the city.

Rent an electric car – Spark

Sometimes you travel with lots of luggage, with family and children. In such cases, a car is a more convenient way to travel. The alternative way to travel in Plovdiv with a car is Spark.

SPARK is a new service in Plovdiv that allows you to find and rent an electric vehicle. All you need is your mobile phone and the Spark application. One can rent a car for 15 minutes to reach their desired destination in the city or use the vehicle for a few days. In Plovdiv, when you finish using the Spark, you may leave it in a “blue zone” (free of charge for electric vehicles) as well as in designated areas outside the city center. Here are some more perks:

• Spark also operates in Sofia;
• Charging at Eldrive charging stations is included in the price. The cars can be charged also at the domestic “Shuko” socket;
• Zero-emissions and zero noise travels = clean and greener Plovdiv.

Rent a scooter – Hobo or Lime

The scooters can be rented through a mobile application. They are a fun, fast and eco-friendly way to reach your destination in the city center without spending time in traffic (because you can use them on the bike lanes). And also without breaking a sweat. The applications are very user-friendly and helpful. What else:

• The applications help you to find the nearest scooter ready for use;
• Hobo and Lime have a big parking zone in the city’s central districts which means you don’t have to park the scooter in a specific place. You can park it anywhere in the parking zone;
• The scooters can be rented till 2 am, providing transportation long after public transport finished working.

Rent a bike – Plovdiv Bike Rent

If you love to ride a bike and feel like adding more movement to our stay in Plovdiv, you can always rent one. Furthermore, Plovdiv has very nice bike paths, so you can quickly reach any destination near them.
